📊 “Where the AI does best” series: How to use the Results filters · The AI's best sport · The best markets · The best leagues · The best combination.
What a betting market is and why it changes everything

The market is the type of bet: who wins, how many goals there are, whether both teams score.
A single match has dozens of markets, and each one has its own odds and its own risk.
Choosing the right market matters as much as choosing the match: go over the most profitable markets to bet on.
How to read the numbers in 30 seconds
To pick an AI's best market, counting hits isn't enough.
| Number | What it is | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Win rate | The percentage of picks that came in. | Compare it with what the odds implied (implied probability). |
| ROI | Net profit ÷ money wagered, using each pick's stake. | It's the same ROI Results shows when you filter. |
| ± (margin) | How far the ROI can move by chance alone (95% confidence). | If it's larger than the ROI, it can't be told apart from luck yet. |
| vs odds | Win-rate points above or below what the odds implied. | If it's positive, the AI beat the odds on those picks. |
| Picks | The sample: how many picks are behind each number. | More picks, more reliable. Only groups with a big enough sample enter the ranking. |
With few picks, the ROI swings wildly, which is why the ranking doesn't get carried away by a nice-looking number.
In Gambeta: reviews performance is calculated at a flat stake (always betting the same amount), so the figures don't match this series, which uses each pick's stake just like Results does.
Matching the odds is already hard: they are the toughest opponent in betting.
Gambeta manages it overall and pulls ahead of them in a few corners, which are the ones we show below with their margin of error.

🟡 Promising: needs more data
−60%0+60%
Likely ROI range: from −24.8% to +77.5%. The white dot is the current ROI; the yellow band shows how far it could move by chance alone.
In a 55-pick sample it won 32.7% and the odds implied 31.7%.
That is 1.1 points above what the odds implied.
It can't be told apart from luck yet, because the margin (±51.2) is larger than the ROI.
It flipped sign between the first half (+91.8%) and the second (−32.1%): it still needs more data.
It's a high-odds market: you hit rarely, so the ROI swings a lot on just a few wins. Guide: the 1X2 explained.
Too good to be true?
An ROI of +26.4% over 55 picks is a very good sign, but not yet a conclusion.
Its margin (±51.2) calls for a bigger sample before we take it for granted.
Every new pick confirms or corrects it, and the ranking updates itself.

- Team bet on: San Diego Padres: 3 of 4 correct (75%).

−60%0+60%
Likely ROI range: from +0.7% to +38.7%. The white dot is the current ROI; the yellow band shows how far it could move by chance alone.
In a 111-pick sample it won 58.6% and the odds implied 52.2%.
That is 6.4 points above what the odds implied.
Even after subtracting the margin of error, the ROI is still positive.
It was positive in both halves of the track record (+20.3% and +19.1%).
It's the winner of the game (moneyline), with no draw because baseball doesn't have one. Guide: AI for baseball.
Too good to be true?
An ROI of +19.7% sounds too good, and doubting it is healthy.
We take it seriously for three reasons: the sample is 111 picks, it was positive in both halves of the track record and it hit more often than the odds implied.
What we can't promise yet is that it will last: its margin is ±19.0.
We publish that margin on purpose, so you can check it yourself and don't have to take our word for it.

Markets under construction: where the AI is still learning
They aren't our strong suit yet, and we say so: showing what's still missing is what makes the rest believable.
But there's already some good inside each one.
| Market | Picks | Win rate | vs odds | ROI (±95%) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| · | Over 2.5 goals | 265 | 54.7% | −2.9 pts | −9.8% (±11.6) |
| · | Double chance X2 | 98 | 56.1% | −1.8 pts | −3.7% (±19.1) |
| · | Winner (tennis) | 120 | 55.8% | −0.7 pts | −2.7% (±18.2) |
🌟 What's already working inside
- Over 2.5 goals: league World Cup 2026 (10 of 13)
- Winner (tennis): player bet on Bucsa (3 of 3)
The samples are small: they're for keeping an eye on, not for promising anything.
A negative ROI today is not a sentence: with more picks it can go up or down.
Until then, it's best to go in with a smaller stake.
Data as of , from the public track record (pick by pick in the open CSV). ROI = net profit ÷ money wagered, using each pick's stake: it is the same ROI the Results page shows when you filter (it doesn't include the long-term World Cup bets). The margin (±) is the 95% margin for chance: if it is larger than the ROI, the difference can't yet be told apart from luck. It updates itself every day and is not a recommendation of where to bet.
How the AI plays each market
| Market | What you bet on | Typical odds | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🏠 Home to win / ✈️ Away to win | Who wins the match (1X2) | Medium | 1X2 explained |
| ⚾ Winner (MLB) / 🎾 Winner (tennis) | Who wins, with no draw | Medium | AI for baseball |
| 🛡️ Double chance 1X / X2 | Covers two of the three outcomes | Low | Double chance |
| 📈 Over 1.5 / 2.5 goals | How many goals there will be in total | Low to medium | Over/under |
| ⚽ Both teams to score | Both teams scoring a goal | Medium | BTTS |
| 🤝 Draw | The match ending level | High | 1X2 explained |
| 🎯 Props, corners, cards, handicap | Players, corners, cards, head starts | Varies | Props · Corners |
Match winner: 1X2, moneyline and tennis
In football it's the 1X2: home, draw or away.
In baseball and tennis there's no draw, so you only choose who wins.
The AI estimates the probability of each outcome and compares it with the odds: the pick comes out when the odds pay more than it's worth.
Double chance (1X and X2)
It covers two of the three outcomes: you hit more often, but the odds are low.
A single miss wipes out several wins, which is why it's worth understanding double chance vs draw no bet.
Total goals and both teams to score
“Over 1.5” needs two goals or more (low odds); “over 2.5”, three or more (medium odds).
They're markets that are very sensitive to the league, because some tournaments have lots of goals and others have few.
More in over 2.5 goals betting.
Draw
It's the market with the highest odds in the 1X2: you hit rarely and it pays a lot.
That's why its ROI swings wildly on just a few hits, and its margin of error is the widest.
Low odds and high odds: why the win rate misleads
| Market with… | You hit… | It pays… | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low odds (over 1.5) | Often | Little | One miss wipes out several wins |
| Medium odds (1X2, winner) | About half the time | Normal | Balanced |
| High odds (draw) | Rarely | A lot | The ROI swings wildly |
If you compare them by win rate, the low-odds one always “wins”; if you compare them by ROI, things change.
That's why each row shows the win rate, what the odds implied and the ROI.
Why you can trust the numbers (and check them)
A track record that only shows the good isn't useful for making decisions.
That's why we publish everything, with its margin of error, and give you the tools to check it.
| What we do | How you check it |
|---|---|
| ✅ Every pick is logged before the match | In the track record, with its odds and its date. |
| ✅ Nothing is deleted: hits and misses both stay | Results shows them all, the ❌ too. |
| ✅ The full track record can be downloaded | There's an open CSV, pick by pick. |
| ✅ Every ranking comes with its margin of error | Look at the “ROI (±95%)” column. |
| ✅ The numbers recalculate themselves every day | The date of the data is at the foot of each table. |
That transparency is the foundation of the product: what you see is what there is.
How to see this ranking yourself on Results
You don't have to take our word for it: the same data is on the Results page, pick by pick.
- Go to Results (the “Results” button in the menu).
- Open the Market filter in the bar.
- Choose an option: the cards at the top and the chart recalculate. Remember that the baseball and tennis winner shows up as “Home to win” and “Away to win”: combine it with the Sport filter.
- Always look at how many picks are behind the number.
The guide to the five filters is in how to use the Results filters.
What to do with this ranking
- Choose the market by its track record and its margin, not by which one sounds easiest.
- In low-odds markets a miss costs a lot: lower the stake or don't stack them in parlays.
- Where the margin of error is huge, treat the ROI as a clue, not a promise.
- For a guide to which market suits your goal, see the most profitable markets.
None of this is a promise of profit: no AI hits every time.
Only play what you can afford to lose and see how to bet responsibly.

Which market is Gambeta best at?
The one that currently tops the ranking above. The ranking goes from highest to lowest ROI, among the markets with enough picks, and it is recalculated every day. Look at how many picks it has too: a market with more picks has a firmer reading.
What are the best markets to bet on with AI?
The ones in the table above are the 5 with the best ROI according to the real track record, among those with enough picks. None of them is safe: every row comes with its margin of error, which tells you how much of that result could be luck.
Why can a market with a high win rate lose money?
Because the win rate doesn't take the odds into account. A low-odds market hits often, but it pays little: with just a few misses it no longer pays off. The ROI does take the odds into account, which is why it's better for comparing.
Why does the draw have such a large margin of error?
Because you hit rarely and it pays a lot: a few more or fewer hits change the ROI enormously. When a market has a wide margin, its ROI can't yet be taken as a conclusion.
Are the corners, cards and props markets in the ranking?
Not yet: they have fewer settled picks. Once they build up a large enough sample, they enter the ranking on their own.
