Before you copy: 5 rules that change the answers

- Put today's date and the window in the prompt. ChatGPT does not know which day it is for you: write «today is 27/10/2026, matches until 30/10» and you avoid answers about games that were already played.
- Turn web search on, or paste the data yourself. With search enabled it can look up fixtures, team news and odds; without it, it only knows what it learned in training and may answer with old data. If you have no search, paste the fixtures and your bookmaker's odds.
- Demand a source and a date for every data point. «Cite the source and the date» reduces made-up facts: anything it cannot cite should be flagged as unverified.
- Ask for its own probability and the minimum odds. A bet only has value if the odds you are paid are higher than the fair odds of your probability. Have ChatGPT tell you «this is worth it as long as the odds are at least X».
- Give it an exit. Add «if no option has value, tell me». Without that sentence, the model tends to offer you something anyway.
ChatGPT cannot see your bookmaker's odds and keeps no record of its own hit rate. Always verify the odds, the line-up and the kick-off time before you bet. If you want picks with probability, minimum odds and stake already worked out, see Gambeta's free AI predictions.
The 5 prompts, ready to copy
Replace what is in square brackets. If you would rather not type anything, use the prompt builder: pick the sport, the days and the market and it writes the text for you.
1. Corners over the next 3 days
Act as a cautious quantitative sports-betting analyst who never makes up data. Today is [TODAY'S DATE]. Use web search to find the [SPORT] matches in [COMPETITIONS OR «the main leagues»] between today and [TODAY'S DATE + 3 DAYS]. For each relevant match confirm, citing source and date: likely absences and line-up, referee and the corners line offered by bookmakers. Calculate each team's corners won and conceded in their last 5 games (home and away separately), their style (crosses, wing play) and the context (who needs to come from behind). Give me the 3 best corner options (totals or by team) with: match and kick-off time, exact bet, line and odds with their source, your estimated probability, the minimum odds that still have value, the main risk and one reason NOT to bet it. If none has value, tell me. Do not guarantee results.
Why it works: corners depend on style and game state more than on quality. In our model they are more dispersed than a simple distribution assumes (the variance is around 1.25 times the mean), so it is better to ask for the probability of going over the line rather than an exact number.
2. Goals: over/under and team goals
Act as a quantitative sports-betting analyst who never makes up data. Today is [TODAY'S DATE]. With web search, list the [SPORT] matches in [COMPETITIONS] until [TODAY'S DATE + 3 DAYS]. For each one bring, with source and date: goals scored and conceded in the last 5 games (home/away), expected goals (xG) if available, absences among forwards and the goalkeeper, and the over/under [LINE, e.g. 2.5] goals odds. Estimate your probability that the line is exceeded and compare it with the implied probability of the odds. Give me the 3 best options with minimum odds that still have value, the main risk and one reason NOT to bet it. If there is no value, tell me.
What to change: try different lines (1.5, 2.5, 3.5) and team goals. Ask it to explain how each absence matters: a backup goalkeeper moves the total more than a full-back.
3. Both teams to score (BTTS)
Act as a quantitative sports-betting analyst who never makes up data. Today is [TODAY'S DATE]. With web search, find the [SPORT] matches in [COMPETITIONS] until [TODAY'S DATE + 3 DAYS]. For each one give me, with source and date: in how many of each team's last 5 games both sides scored, percentage of games without conceding, absences among defenders and the goalkeeper, style (low block or high press) and the odds for «both teams to score: yes» and «no». Estimate your probability and compare it with the odds. Give me up to 3 matches with minimum odds that still have value, the main risk and one reason NOT to bet. Do not use head-to-head history as the main argument.
Useful detail: ask for both sides («yes» and «no»). Sometimes the value is in the «no» of a match everyone assumes will be open.
4. Player props (you choose the sport and the stat)
Act as a quantitative player-props analyst who never makes up data. Today is [TODAY'S DATE]. Sport: [SPORT]. Stat: [STAT, e.g. points, shots on target, strikeouts, yards]. With web search, look at the games until [TODAY'S DATE + 3 DAYS] and choose up to 3 players. For each one confirm, with source and date: starting status and expected minutes, role and usage, average over the last 10 games and the last 5, team injuries that change his role, the opponent's defence or pace and the line offered by [BOOKMAKER]. Calculate your projection and tell me whether the over or the under is better than the line, with your estimated probability and the minimum odds that still have value. If you cannot confirm the line, ask me for it. Finish each one with a reason NOT to bet it.

Most important: a prop lives on minutes and role. An absence on the team can raise a teammate's usage; a game decided early can cut the starters' minutes.
5. The best bet of the period (3 days, 7 days or the month)
Act as a cautious quantitative sports-betting analyst who never makes up data. Today is [TODAY'S DATE]. I need the best [SPORT] bet for the period [TODAY → END DATE: 3 days / 7 days / 30 days], in the [MARKET] market. Use web search and cite the source and date of every data point. Review all matches in the period in [COMPETITIONS], discard those without enough information and keep one main bet and two alternatives. For each: match and kick-off time, exact bet, current odds with their source, your probability and the data behind it, the minimum odds that still have value, the main risk and one reason NOT to bet it. If the window is long, tell me which data I should re-check before each match. If none has value, tell me. Do not guarantee results.
Careful with long windows: the further away the match, the more team news and odds change. For «the best of the month» ask it to prioritise markets with stable information and to flag what to re-check.
Build your own prompt with the builder
The 5 prompts above are templates. If you want yours in twenty seconds, pick the sport, the period (3 days, 7 days or the best bet of the month) and the market below, then copy the text and paste it into ChatGPT with web search turned on. A version with more explanations is on the full prompt builder page.
The link pre-fills the text, but ChatGPT may change it: if it does not load, copy and paste.

How to ask ChatGPT for props, step by step
- Pick a single stat. Points, strikeouts or shots on target: do not mix three in the same request.
- Paste your bookmaker's line. ChatGPT cannot see your bookmaker: write «Player X, over 24.5 points, odds 1.90».
- Ask for expected minutes and role before any average: averaging 25 points in 34 minutes is not the same as in 26.
- Ask about absences. Who is not playing on that team and whose usage goes up.
- Ask for the projection before you show it the line. If it gives its own number first and compares it with the line afterwards, it is less biased.
- Compare 2 or 3 bookmakers. The same line can differ by a point between bookmakers, and that point changes the value.
| Sport | Usual stats | What to ask it to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Basketball | Points, rebounds, assists, threes, P+R+A | Minutes, team pace, absences, back-to-back, opponent defence |
| Football | Shots, shots on target, cards, goalscorer | Starting status, position, penalties, referee, opponent |
| Baseball | Pitcher strikeouts, hits, total bases | Confirmed starter, pitch limit, bullpen, ballpark |
| NFL | Yards, receptions, touchdowns | Injuries, role in the offence, weather, opposing defence |
| Hockey | Shots on goal, points, saves | Line and power-play unit, minutes, opposing goalie |
| Tennis | Aces, games won, double faults | Surface, physical condition, serve and return in recent matches |
How to verify what it answers
- Open at least one of the sources it cites and confirm the date, time and line-up.
- Check the odds at your bookmaker: ChatGPT may quote odds that have already moved or that your bookmaker does not offer.
- Distrust exact numbers without a source (percentages, streaks, «averages») and ask it to recalculate them with the data you give it.
- Save the prompt, the answer and the result: in a month you will know how often it was really right.
- Only bet money you can afford to lose and set a cap per bet; to size it you can use the Kelly calculator and the expected value calculator.
When a prompt is not enough
A chatbot with a good prompt is a fast analyst, not a trained model. It does not calculate calibrated probabilities across thousands of matches and does not publish a record. That is what Gambeta's AI is for: it delivers the pick already worked out (market, probability, minimum odds and stake), for free and with every result in the open. The ideal combination: the specialised AI chooses the bet and ChatGPT helps you understand it and challenge it before you bet.
If you want more general-purpose templates (analyse a match, spot value, audit a tipster), they are in 7 AI prompts for sports betting. And for the limits and the method, how to use ChatGPT for betting.
Responsible gambling: betting carries a risk of losing money. 18+ only. No prompt, model or tipster guarantees results.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best ChatGPT prompt for sports betting?
The one that sets today's date and the match window, forces a web search with cited sources, asks for its own probability and the minimum odds with value, and allows a «no bet» answer. The 5 in this guide follow that structure.
Can ChatGPT give me the best bets for the next 3 days?
It can help you analyse them if it searches the web and you demand sources, but it cannot see your bookmaker's odds and it does not guarantee wins. Treat its answers as a draft and verify odds, line-ups and kick-off times.
Does it work for player props?
Yes, if you give it your bookmaker's line and ask for expected minutes, role, absences and opponent. Without that information it makes up averages.
How many days should I ask for?
One to 3 days gives the most reliable information; with 7 days team news and odds already change a lot; for «the best of the month» ask for markets with stable information and re-check before each match.
How do I build my own prompt quickly?
Use the free prompt builder on this page: choose the sport, the number of days and the market, and it returns the text ready to paste into ChatGPT.
