What is Sisal Tipster?

You see it at every Serie A game. Here is what it actually is, and why its website will not open for you.

Sisal Tipster is not a tipster service. It is a social-betting feature inside Sisal, one of Italy’s largest bookmakers — the “tipsters” are Sisal’s own registered users, posting the bets they placed. Sisal has been owned by Flutter Entertainment since 2022, and its website is geo-blocked outside Italy, which is why you probably could not look this up yourself.

If you watch Serie A, you have seen it hundreds of times: a green and white board running along the touchline that reads Sisal Tipster. It shows up behind corners, behind every goal celebration, in every replay. And unless you live in Italy, you probably have no idea what it is.

The strange part is that you cannot easily find out, either. You search for it, you click through to the official site, and you hit a closed door. Here is the answer that never comes up.

The short answer

Sisal Tipster is not a tipster and it is not a picks service. It is a social feature inside Sisal, one of the biggest bookmakers in Italy.

The “tipsters” are Sisal’s own registered users. They publish the bets they placed so other users can see them and copy them. It is not an expert selling you predictions: it is a community of bettors sharing what they are playing, inside the app of the bookmaker they are playing it with.

How it actually works

There are four moving parts, and they all push in the same direction.

A tip is the basic unit: a user publishes a bet they made. The tipstream is the feed where every published tip shows up, so anyone can take inspiration or copy the bet outright.

The Indice Abilità (skill index) is the score that measures how well each tipster is doing, and it feeds the classifiche — weekly leaderboards by theme that hand out prizes to whoever finishes on top.

And Tipster Reward closes the loop: the more your tips get replayed by other users, the more Sisal points you collect. Those points convert into betting bonuses.

That is the key to understanding the whole thing: the reward for being a good tipster is not money, it is credit to keep betting. The system is not built so you can sell predictions. It is built so people bet more, and so every bet placed gives someone else an idea to bet too.

Who is actually behind the board

Sisal is an Italian company headquartered in Milan and one of the oldest names in the business: it created Totocalcio and it runs SuperEnalotto. This is not some small app.

And since 2022 it is not entirely Italian either. Flutter Entertainment bought it for €1.91 billion, a deal that closed in August of that year. Flutter is the largest betting group in the world — it also owns PokerStars, Betfair, Paddy Power and FanDuel.

So the board that looks like it belongs to some small prediction service is, in fact, the leading betting brand in Italy, owned by the biggest online gambling group on the planet.

Why the site will not open outside Italy

Here is the part that explains why you went looking in the first place. If you try to open Sisal’s site from the UK, the US, Australia, Spain or almost anywhere that is not Italy, you do not get the page. You get Access Denied.

It is not a glitch. Italian gambling platforms operate under a licence from ADM, the customs and monopolies authority, and that licence lets them take players in Italy. Blocking access from abroad is the ordinary way of staying compliant.

Which leaves a genuinely odd situation: Serie A is broadcast worldwide, hundreds of millions of people see the board, and the overwhelming majority of them cannot reach what it advertises. The advertising travels much further than the product does.

So is it any use if you are not Italian?

Honestly: not to use. If you are not in Italy and you do not hold a Sisal account, you will not get into the platform, post tips or collect Sisal points.

To understand, yes — and for a reason that applies anywhere. The Tipster model is a clean example of something worth recognising: when the predictions are published by the same house you bet with, and the prize for being right is credit to bet more, the incentive is not that you win. It is that you keep playing.

That does not make it a scam — it is a declared, regulated product — but it changes how you should read it. A tipster leaderboard inside a bookmaker measures who bet best with that bookmaker, not who knows the most about football.

Three things you can check on any prediction

This holds for Tipster and for any other service you run into, ours included.

One: does it publish the full record, losses included, with dates? A leaderboard that only shows whoever is winning this week tells you nothing about the long run.

Two: who profits when you lose? If the party handing you the prediction is the same party taking your bet, those interests are not aligned.

Three: can you see it without signing up and without depositing? If you have to open an account before you can judge whether it wins, the order is backwards.

How we put this together

How Tipster works comes from Sisal’s own public pages about the platform (rules, leaderboards, tipstream and Tipster Reward). The Flutter acquisition and its value come from Flutter’s official 2022 announcement. The geo-block we checked ourselves on 19 September 2026, from Argentina.

We do not hold a Sisal account, we have no relationship of any kind with the company, and this article does not link to their platform. We are saying so plainly so you know exactly where it is written from.

We run AI football predictions and we publish the full track record — wins and losses, dated — free and with no signup. It is the same yardstick we just held Sisal to.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sisal Tipster a tipster service?

No. It is a social-betting feature inside the Sisal bookmaker, where Sisal’s own registered users publish the bets they placed. There is no professional tipster behind the name.

Who owns Sisal?

Flutter Entertainment, which bought Sisal for €1.91 billion in a deal completed in August 2022. Flutter also owns PokerStars, Betfair, Paddy Power and FanDuel.

Why can I not open the Sisal website?

Because it is geo-blocked outside Italy and returns “Access Denied”. Sisal is licensed by the Italian authority ADM to take players in Italy, and blocking foreign access is the standard way of complying.

Can I use Sisal Tipster from outside Italy?

No. Without access to the site and without a Sisal account you cannot post tips, appear in the leaderboards or collect the Sisal points the platform rewards.

What do tipsters win on Sisal?

Sisal points, which convert into betting bonuses, not cash. That is worth knowing: the reward is credit to keep betting with the same bookmaker.

The yardstick we just used

A prediction is only worth something if you can audit it. Gambeta’s AI publishes its picks before kick-off and leaves the full record open — no signup, no deposit.
