What Transfermarkt is (in one line)
Transfermarkt is a free, community-run football database. It is best known for player market values, but it also holds squads, injuries, suspensions, lineups, fixtures and transfer news for hundreds of competitions. Below is how to actually use each part.
Step 1 — Search a team or player
Type a club or player in the top search bar. A club page opens on the squad tab: every player, position, age, contract end and market value. A player page shows career history, stats, injury record and value over time. This is your starting point for any match.
Step 2 — Read squad market values

Step 3 — Check injuries, suspensions and lineups
Open the club's injuries/suspensions tab before every match: the market value only matters if the stars actually play. A €90M striker out injured erases a big chunk of that quality gap. Close to kickoff, Transfermarkt also lists probable and confirmed lineups.
Step 4 — Follow transfers and form
The transfers and rumours sections tell you if a squad just got stronger or weaker, and fixture pages give recent results. Context — new signings, a manager change, fixture congestion — is what turns a raw value into a real read.
